Yard Treatments For Fleas and Ticks

Fleas thrive on pets and will even take a bite out of you! They seek shelter and lay their eggs in carpet, rugs, cracks between wood flooring, pet bedding, and even under furniture cushions. Ticks crawl onto tall grass and shrubs and wait for a host, like your pet, to pass by. Dogs are most likely to pick up ticks while walking in the woods or high grass from spring through fall. Outdoor cats can pick up ticks the same way.

We highly recommend treating your yard and home at the same time if you are having a problem with fleas or ticks, especially if you have a pet in your back yard. Even if your pet does not enter your home, you could still bring fleas and ticks into your home without knowing it. They can attach themselves to your clothing as you walk by. Treating both at the same time gives greater success for treatment. In addition, successful treatment of your home and yard for fleas and/or ticks requires preparation before we arrive. We have a treatment preparation checklist we will be glad to send you.

Bed Bug Treatment

Although residences continue to top the list, bed bugs have been reported everywhere including single family homes, multi-family housing, apartments, hotels, hospitals, schools and college campuses, office buildings, retail stores, movie theaters and even public transportation. Nowadays, even five-star hotels and high-end clothing stores are susceptible to infestations.

Bed bugs are excellent hitchhikers and are easily transported. They will hide in suitcases, boxes and shoes to be near a food supply. They like to hide in small cracks and crevices close to a human environment. Bed bugs are most often found in bed parts such as mattresses, box springs, and folded areas. They can also conceal themselves behind baseboards, wallpaper, upholstery, picture frames, electric switch-plates, and furniture crevices.

Bed bug treatment can be expensive and requires preparation of your home before treatment. We have a treatment preparation checklist we will be glad to send you. Don't delay! It will only cost more in the long run!

Rodent Treatment

Mice, rats and squirrels are not welcome guests in a home or business. These furry pests belong outside - Not Inside! They are always searching for food and shelter and do extreme amounts of damage. Surprisingly, rodents can reproduce very quickly and you can end up with a full-blown infestation in a matter of weeks.

You might begin to hear unusual noises in the attic or inside the walls. They leave droppings in the pantry, along the baseboards, or in the attic.
These furry invaders have the ability to squeeze through very tiny openings. A mouse only needs a space the size of a nickel and a rat can squeeze through one the size of a quarter. Additionally, rats are excellent climbers and can make their way into a home through entry points along the roofline as well.

Squirrels enter homes looking for a place to nest. They can be found in attics, exterior walls, and even between floors, using insulation as nesting material. They can do considerable damage to the exterior trim and siding of a home. Once in the home, they can gnaw on just about anything, including electrical wiring, which can cause a short or a fire.
